Meet Our Doctors
Shu Ting (Charlie) Kung MD
Dr. Kung was born in Los Angeles, California, and spent much of his childhood in Taiwan. He earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of Washington before completing medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine. Dr. Kung went on to complete his Internal Medicine residency at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona, graduating in 2018.
For the past seven years, Dr. Kung has practiced as a hospitalist, gaining extensive experience caring for patients with complex medical conditions. This work shaped his commitment to preventive care and chronic disease management, with the goal of helping patients avoid hospitalization and disease exacerbations. He believes that strong partnerships with patients and a proactive approach in the primary care setting can make a meaningful difference in long-term health and quality of life.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Kung enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He is an avid foodie and loves exploring the diverse landscapes and experiences Arizona has to offer.

Matthew Powell MD
Dr. Powell is board certified in family medicine and is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care. He graduated with Honors in Health Sciences from Linfield College and earned his medical degree from La Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara. He completed his residency training at HonorHealth Osborn in Scottsdale.
Dr. Powell brings several years of experience in hospital medicine, urgent care, and medical education, where he has enjoyed teaching both resident physicians and medical students. His clinical interests include sports medicine and diabetes management, and he enjoys helping patients stay active, healthy, and informed about their care.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Powell enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. As a family, they love the outdoors and can often be found snowboarding, swimming, or camping together. In his personal time, Dr. Powell also enjoys running and playing music from his ever-expanding guitar collection.
